City Cave Float & Wellness Centre will open 22 new outlets before Christmas, bringing the total footprint to 51 stores across Queensland, New South Wales, Northern Territory and New Zealand before the end of the year.

In the first half of 2022 a further 15 centres are scheduled to open, including the first site for Victoria.

Founders Tim Butters and Jeremy Hassell have set a goal of 200 City Cave Centres in Australia, and 30 in New Zealand, and are working on launching the concept into the US mid 2022 with a franchisee in Florida.

The pair signed the first international site earlier this year with the inaugural New Zealand franchise opening up in Queenstown in March.

This month, after nearly four months of lockdown, new City Cave outlets will open in Sydney at Mona Vale, Balgowlah, Picton, and Minchinbury.

In November two further New South Wales centres will open their doors at Crows Nest and Macarthur Square, with new Queensland sites at Rocklea, Maryoochydore and Yarrabilba.

A string of outlets will be unveiled in December:

  • North Strathfield, NSW
  • Darlinghurst, NSW
  • Mosman, NSW
  • Darwin, NT
  • Hope Island, QLD
  • Kirrawee, NSW
  • Parramatta, NSW
  • Bulimba, NSW
  • Southport, QLD
  • Redcliffe, QLD
  • Mayfield, NSW
  • Caloundra, QLD

The business has doubled in size in a couple of months, and the exponential growth has reset City Cave’s focus away from start-up mode.

City Cave offers float therapy, infrared saunas, massage and other health care services and strives to address mental health concerns by promoting alternative therapies to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression.

Back in 2019 the fledgling franchisors won the NextGen in Franchising award at the International Franchise Association annual convention in Las Vegas.
