Global logistics brand Aramex Australia will have a mega base at Brisbane Airport to boost its capabilities to service South East Queensland.
The development of the site, expected to be completed Q2 2024, is the airport’s largest industrial project. The new 26,120sqm office and warehouse will be equivalent in area to more than three-and-a-half rugby league fields.
Aramex Brisbane general manager, Jacob Marsters said the new Brisbane facility would improve its delivery and logistics capability.
Sixty staff and more than 120 courier franchises will operate from the site each day.
“In our business, speed and efficiency are critical. That’s why being located at the Brisbane Airport precinct and connected to major arterial roads were key factors in our decision-making.
“The quick access to the northern, western and southern distribution networks, along with multiple access points in the precinct will be an advantage for our operations.,” he said.

The Aramex construction is the first stage of development of the area, which is more than five times the size of Brisbane’s South Bank.
The facility includes a warehouse with approximately 25,070sqm of Net Lettable Area (NLA)and an office of 1,050sqm NLA. Other features include 157 car parking bays and 14 bicycle racks for 14, plus end-of-trip facilities. There will be space for pallet racking, freight sortation and a customer collection zone.
The development will also feature approximately 1,000kW of commercial rooftop solar panels.
Martin Ryan, Brisbane Airport Corporation executive general manager commercial, said the size of the project highlights the potential for logistics and industrial development at the airport.
