Bridgestone is undergoing a change of leadership across its Australian and New Zealand retail network in 2025.

Australia general manager of retail operations, Jon Tamblyn, is relocating to New Zealand to lead the business when longstanding director John Staples retires.

Tamblyn starts his new role on 1 January, 2025.

“It’s a wonderful honour to be given the opportunity to lead the Bridgestone business in New Zealand, and I’m looking forward to building on the incredible work John Staples contributed throughout his notable career,” Tamblyn said.

“John’s strategic vision and unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction have left an indelible mark on the business and the broader industry, and my intention is to continue to strengthen Bridgestone’s market leading reputation through the next era of the business,” he added.

Staples has been with the Bridgestone business for 44 years.

“It’s been an honour to lead our New Zealand business and to work with such dedicated teammates and loyal customers,” Staples said.

Current general manager sales in Australia, Roger Saliba, replaces Tamblyn as GM of retail operations. In addition to his Bridgestone tenure he has small business ownership experience, which is invaluable to the Bridgestone franchise network.

“I’m looking forward to combining my small business and tyre industry experience to continue to grow Bridgestone’s retail network,” Saliba said.

The retail network comprises Bridgestone Select Tyre & Auto and Bridgestone Service Centre stores.
