Hotel franchise group Choice Hotels Asia-Pac has added three new properties in Melbourne and Adelaide as it continues to expand its portfolio.

The new signings include a former Quest branded property – Comfort Apartments Royal Gardens in the heart of Fitzroy. Royal Gardens general manager Anthony Murphy brings a wealth of knowledge in strategic franchising and diverse industry experience.

In Adelaide the dual-branded Econo Lodge North Adelaide and Comfort Hotel Adelaide Meridien have joined the hotel group. Operated by 1834 Hotels, the dual-branded property further solidify Choice’s relationship with the management company, which also operates the Quality Apartments Adelaide Central, which joined the group earlier in 2021.

Trent Fraser, CEO of Choice Hotels Asia-Pac, said “I’m thrilled to be welcoming such strong additions
into our network in Melbourne and Adelaide, especially during a time when we’re firmly focused on
supporting our franchisees’ recovery.

“I commend each of our hoteliers for their perseverance during these challenging times while we
continue to navigate and bounce back from rolling lockdowns around the country.”

Choice Hotels Asia-Pac continued to experience strong direct online growth in particular in Q2 of 2021, with direct online reservations increasing 95 per cent compared to the same time in 2019.

The business is a 100 percent owned subsidiary of Choice Hotels International, a US publicly listed company with more than 7,100 hotels and 600,000 rooms in more than 40 countries and territories.
