Cinnabon, the American bakery franchise, will launch into Western Australia later this year.
The expansion will be led by Boxx Brands, which has secured the rights for the brand across the state. It also owns the Jesters and Croissant Express chains. A group of franchisors and franchisees founded Boxx Brands in 2020.
Brett Higgins, Boxx Brands managing director, said the company is now in site selection mode, with an expected launch in winter 2024.
“Our aim is to keep the first store easily accessible for customers. We want to make it easy for first timers to taste Cinnabon and discover why these rolls have been dubbed the ‘best in the world’. And for our fans they won’t have go interstate anymore to get their fix!” he said.
Cinnabon WA launch will be the brand’s 15th Aussie store
Cinnabon uses Indonesian-sourced Makara cinnamon which it claims gives the cinnamon rolls their distinctive flavour.
“Since Cinnabon landed on OZ shores in 2019, West Australians have been hounding social media asking when it will be their turn,” said Higgins.
The opening of the first WA store will be the 15th Cinnabon outlet in Australia.
“Given the massive lines and furore we’ve seen at the openings on the East Coast, we’re preparing for Cinnabon to get a big welcome here as well,” he said.
Since launching in 1985 in Seattle, US, Cinnabon has expanded to nearly 2,000 stores over more than 50 countries.
