Club Pilates is set to expand rapidly in Australia over the next four years following a deal between the Australian operator, Boutique Fitness studios, and US-based franchise group Riser Fitness.

Under the new arrangement Riser Fitness, which operates more than 90 Club Pilates studios globally, will open 40 sites across all major Australian capital cities.

The Riser Fitness founding team was one of the brand’s early franchisees. President and COO of Riser Fitness, Mike Gray, joined the Club Pilates corporate team in California in 2017 as vice president of sales then became brand president.

Gray has played a pivotal role in accelerating the brand’s global growth, expanding the footprint of Riser Fitness’ Club Pilates locations and driving performance across the group.

Since launching in 2020, Boutique Fitness Studios has opened 22 Club Pilates locations and sold 27 more across Australia and New Zealand.

Matt Gordin, CEO of Boutique Fitness Studios, told Franchise Executives, Riser Fitness has built an impressive team to open, manage and operate the Pilates studios.

“We look forward to working with Mike and the team to build out a similar operation here in Australia. Mike’s knowledge of the Club Pilates systems and processes is second-to none. The team they build will be focused on implementing best practices and I expect each of their studios to be among our strongest performers.”

Boutique Fitness Studios also operates sibling US brands CycleBar, Rumble Boxing and StretchLab. Last September Viva Leisure took a 34 per cent stake in the business.
