Premium indoor cycling brand CycleBar has signed its first Queensland license. Another five studios are set to open across New South Wales, Melbourne and Queensland by mid 2021.
Late last year the first Australian CycleBar opened in Currambine, Western Australia and the business signed a three-studio deal with a Sydney entrepreneur.
Matt Gordin, the previous CEO of BikeExchange USA and former GM of nationwide cycle store chain Bike Force, heads up Spin X Operations which holds CycleBar’s Australian licence.
As the master franchisee, Spin X has a commitment to open a minimum of 45 studios.
Gordin said with Covid-19 compliant practices in place, the studio will house up to 50 bikes for 1,000 members, and offer at least 30 low-impact, high-intensity 45-minute classes a week.
New franchisees are George and Nadia Economous.
Nadia said “My background is in nutritional coaching and beauty therapy, whilst George has spent the last 25 years working across various IT roles. It was important for our next venture to be local and health-focused. CycleBar blends physical fitness with community connections, a combination we strongly believe is key to overall well-being.”
Gordin told Inside Franchise Business Executive “We are excited to have George and Nadia join us in opening our first CycleBar studio in Queensland. The interest from potential franchisees is enormous, we are in discussions with locations all over the country and likely to have CycleBar open in each of the five major cities (Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne) by years end.”
Founded in 2004 in the US, CycleBar is the largest indoor cycling brand worldwide. It offers various low-impact, high-intensity indoor cycling workouts, which are inclusive of all fitness levels.
