The Franchise Council of Australia regional awards have recognised high-performing individuals in franchising across the country, and some brands are celebrating multiple awards in their networks.
Poolwerx franchisee Robyn Walsh has taken out Franchise Woman of the Year at the Western Australian Franchise Council of Australia’s 2021 Regional Excellence in Franchising Awards. Walsh was recognised as the Poolwerx’ Woman of the Year in late 2020.
The network’s business development manager Phil Colburn has taken out the Field Manager of the Year QLD/NT award for the second year in a row.
Signarama has won two awards at the Victorian event. Franchisees Michael and Kathy McGrath from Signarama Footscray and Melbourne CBD were awarded the Multi-Site Franchisee of the Year Award.
“We’re absolutely thrilled at receiving this award!,” the couple said. “Being situated in Melbourne, last year was one of the toughest situations we’ve had to face. But we remained optimistic and through the support of our excellent team, and our amazing customers we’ve come out stronger and didn’t just weather the storm, but were fortunate enough to excel.”
In recognition of his exemplary support of franchisees (in particular throughout the bulk of Melbourne’s lockdown in 2020), Signarama operations advisor, Michael O’Connor was named as Field Manager of the Year.
O’Connor said “I’m over the moon. What our stores have experienced in the last 18 months and what they’ve achieved has been nothing short of exceptional. You cannot underestimate the amount of job satisfaction I get out of seeing our franchisees nurture and grow successful businesses. It’s 100 per cent why we all do this.”
There was another double win for Foodco. Muffin Break Darwin franchisees Des and Gayle Purdue took home the gong for Single Unit Franchise, two or more staff, QLD/NT.
The cafe chain’s general manager, Natalie Brennan, posted on LinkedIn, “They are a pillar of the Darwin community and everyone at Muffin Break is incredibly proud to have them as franchise partners.”
And Karen Purcell, Foodco’s regulations and accreditation manager, was named NSW/ACT Franchise Woman of the Year.
Earlier this year Purcell was listed in the top 10 in the Top 30 Franchise Executives 2021.
