The Fair Work Ombudsman is taking legal action against the former operators of a now-closed Goodyear Autocare business in regional New South Wales.
DD Tyre & Auto Pty Ltd, which traded as Goodyear Autocare Dubbo, and the company’s sole director and owner Darren Didus, are facing possible penalties of up to $93,900, and $18,780 respectively, for alleged underpayments.
A full-time mechanic employed between May 2023 and February 2024 contacted the regulator over alleged underpaid wages and accrued but untaken annual leave.
The FWO issued a Compliance Notice in July 2024, requiring the company to calculate and back-pay the worker’s entitlements, plus superannuation.
The regulator alleges the company failed to comply and is seeking to enforce full payment of the back pay, superannuation, and interest.
