The Franchise Council of Australia has commissioned Australia’s first survey of franchisees.
FRANdata is undertaking the project to gain insights from franchisees around the country. Hundreds of responses have already been received but the sector is pushing for many hundreds, if not thousands, more.
The survey is quick, simple, anonymous and mobile device friendly.
FRANdata’s Australian CEO Darryn McAuliffe said “A strong response rate will capture meaningful data for the sector and support representation for the sector. Good data is especially important given the amount of misinformation and generalisation that can occur around franchising”.
FRANdata has been conducting surveys of franchisors for the FCA since 2020, marking the changing sentiments and business conditions in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The most recent survey results, the Australian Franchise Business Pulse Check for the June 2021 quarter, announced in August, revealed a slide in business confidence due to continued lockdowns in New South Wales and Victoria.
At the time FRANdata CEO Darryn McAuliffe told Inside Franchise Business Executive, the six successive quarters of survey data formed the foundation for “some very insightful longitudinal analysis”.
However, national franchisee feedback has been missing from the sector; now the FCA and FRANdata franchisee survey will deliver information that will provide a more rounded view of the franchising sector, from franchisee profiles to business expectations and challenges.
