The first World Franchise Day takes place on 11 June 2025 and the Franchise Council of Australia is one of the national associations backing the initiative.
World Franchise Day aims to raise awareness of franchising by recognising the contributions of franchisees as small business owners, and the substantial economic impact that franchising has at a local, national and international level.
It’s an initiative from the World Franchise Council, an association of more than 40 national franchise bodies. The British Franchise Association, Canadian Franchise Association, Franchise Association of New Zealand and the Franchise Association of South Africa are among those participating in the celebrations.
The FCA is encouraging its members to nominate franchise heroes from among franchisees, the franchisor team or suppliers, to share their stories with a wider audience.
World Franchise Day will be held annually on the second Wednesday of June.
