Flight Centre Travel Group’s non-executive director Cassandra Kelly has resigned from her post.
After moving with her family to the United States last year and commuting to Australia regularly for board meetings, Kelly has decided to step down to spend more time with her family and focus on her other business commitments internationally.
Gary Smith, Flight Centre chair, said Kelly has made a significant contribution as a board member in a report by Inside Retail.
“We thank her for her efforts and insights during the past two years,” said Smith.
“Her mix of strategy, mergers and acquisitions and analytical skills, coupled with her passion for people development, has been a valuable asset while we have been developing and executing on our plan for the future.”
“We look forward to continuing to work with her in the future, outside of being a director.”
Flight Centre stated that during Kelly’s time as director, the brand has increased total transaction value by more than $3 bin, expanded into new countries and geographies, and laid the foundations for future growth by investing in new platforms and implementing strategies that will underpin its future success.
The travel franchise has stated it will appoint a new non-executive director soon.
