The Franchising & Business Opportunities Expo organisers have announced a rescheduled Sydney show. The planned November expo has now been postponed until March next year.
Exhibition manager Fiona Stacey said “The business outlook is definitely improving and there has never been more interest in connecting – but remaining concerns around travel and public gatherings mean we simply cannot run the event at full strength.”
Traditionally the first franchising expo of the year the show was moved to November because of Covid-19 restrictions early in 2020. The latest postponement means the show now returns to its usual slot and will run from 26-27 March at the International Convention Centre.
Visitor and exhibitor registrations will roll over to the new dates.
Stacey said “We have been overwhelmed by the interest from visitors and the ongoing support of exhibitors. There is no doubt the pandemic has generated massive interest in lifestyle changes including the freedom of working for yourself.”
Other changes to next year’s events include the Melbourne expo running alongside the FCA convention in August for the first time.
CEO of the Franchise Council of Australia Mary Aldred said the live shows had been missed this year but she was pleased to hear they would be coming back soon.
“Getting into your own business is a big decision. These events give everyday Australians a chance to take those first steps. Our team will be there to talk about how franchising can be a very effective way to make this happen with a support structure around you.”
Stacey said visitors could still meet exhibitors on the show website which has recently been upgraded to include more videos and downloadable content.
