Gami Chicken is known for its Korean fried chicken share plates and ice-cold beer. However a recent menu addition, grilled chicken, has accounted for 8.8 per cent of sales since April. The business is striving to increase this to 20 per cent by December.

“We know Gami Chicken’s fried chicken and beer combos are not everyone’s preferred lunch or dinner, and the sales results of the new grilled chicken menu launch and individual menu items reflect that,” said Jun Lee, Gami Chicken’s executive director.

“Our grilled chicken menu sales have increased by an impressive 526 per cent over the past nine weeks, indicating our menu update resonated with customers.”

Among the new grilled chicken dishes, honey butter garlic chicken and a chicken burger.

It’s not the restaurant chain’s first menu revision. Last year Gami Chicken introduced Bibimbap, Gochujang Chicken, and a Gami Bowl. As a result sales lifted 172% per cent from June 2023 to December 2023.

Gami Chicken has a 37-restaurant footprint across Victoria, New South Wales, ACT, South Australia and Western Australia.
