Grill’d is donating $90,000 this June to My Room Children’s Cancer Charity, through its Local Matters program, in partnership with dual Grill’d and My Room ambassador Australian F1 driver Oscar Piastri.
In 2025 at the Melbourne Grand Prix Piastri met Kruz, a young patient who battled a rare form of Leukaemia. Piastri later raised $107,000 for My Room by auctioning his race-worn helmet and became the charity’s official ambassador.
The Grill’d campaign temporarily replaces the usual option of three local community causes for consumers to support. Throughout June anyone who purchases a burger at one of the 178 Grill’d restaurants across the country can drop a token into a My Room Local Matters jar in a show of support.
The $90,000 donation to My Room will help fund family support, clinical care and research and trials.
Simon Crowe, managing director and founder of Grill’d, said “Local Matters has always been about giving back to local communities across the country and we’re proud to have donated over $7 million to tens of thousands of local community groups since 2011.
“Childhood cancer impacts families right across Australia and we are hoping to raise awareness of the extraordinary work My Room does for these kids and families who rely on their support every day. This partnership is about supporting My Room and this incredible cause, and we’re honoured to play a small part in that.”
