Harcourts International is farewelling co-owner and director Paul Wright, who is stepping aside after four decades with the 135-year-old business. Ownership of the business passes to a team of leaders.

Mike Green, international managing director; Irene Green, head of professional development; and sons Mitchell Green, head of people and culture and Steven Green, technology operations manager, will extend their ownership stake.

Adrian Knowles, Harcourts Australia CEO, will assume an ownership stake; Bryan Thomson, New Zealand managing director, and Jo Clifford, New Zealand COO, will also acquire ownership stakes.

Partners from Harcourts’s largest franchise, Harcourts Cooper & Co Real Estate Ltd (Martin Cooper, Rob Carter, Mitch Cooper, and Andrew North) are also acquiring shares in the international parent company.

Mike Green said “This new structure underpins the company’s commitment to continuity while injecting new energy, ideas, and ambition to take Harcourts to the next level. Guided by strong leadership, we are confident in our ability to thrive in an evolving global real estate landscape.”

For Paul Wright, moving into a new chapter of his life is a momentous occasion.

“It’s been a true privilege to help grow Harcourts into the respected, forward-thinking business it is today,” he said.

“Built on strong values and bold aspiration for its people, this company has always looked ahead — and our vision is stronger than ever. I leave knowing it’s in the hands of a leadership team committed to driving innovation, growing success and delivering excellence.”
