The next Franchising & Business Opportunities Expo due to take place late August has been postponed in response to the ongoing Covid restrictions throughout Victoria, New South Wales and South Australa.
Organisers have shifted dates and the Melbourne Franchising & Business Opportunities Expo will now run from 26–27 November 2021.
Fiona Stacey, exhibition manager, said “This date has been chosen to maintain the current momentum while giving everyone time to recover. “
Stacey said the date has been chosen to maximise exhibitor and visitor safety and success.
“After reviewing the latest health advice and speaking with industry leaders it is clear that the Melbourne exhibition needs to be postponed. This is incredibly frustrating for everyone but we must deal with the situation and ensure the event can run safely and successfully,” she said.
The show will remain at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre and is now set to run seven weeks after the rescheduled Brisbane expo which moved from its June date to 8-9 October.
The news of the postponement comes just a day after the Franchise Council of Australia announced it would move its August-scheduled National Franchise Convention to a late October calendar date.
NFC 2021 will now be held on 27 and 28 October, also at the Melbourne Convention Exhibition Centre.
The annual event had been set to take place just two days after the Melbourne expo.
