Bubble tea franchise Sharetea has signed up to a site in the new look MKT Square. The Deception Bay shopping centre north of Brisbane is nearing completion of its multi-million-dollar transformation.

The centre includes a 3,850 sqm market-style Coles supermarket, a modern Coles precinct and new
specialty stores catering for the vibrant multicultural community in Deception Bay in the Moreton Bay region.

The new outlets will join Woolworths, Dan Murphy’s, Choice The Discount Store, Snap Fitness, a medical precinct, more than 40 specialty stores, a food court and various dining options, as well as a childcare centre.

The re-development is scheduled for a mid-2023 completion, with retail spaces housing fresh food, takeaway, and service-based retailers.

MKT Square development nears completion

Mintus Properties has developed the MKT Square with architects ThomsonAdsett and project builders Mainbrace Constructions. The design includes unique retail offerings, external facade upgrades, landscaping, street and shade trees, a pedestrian shopfront walkway, and an undercover six-bay click-and-collect drive-through.

Mintus’ leasing executive, Jessica Pankiw, said “The expansion of MKT Square Deception Bay is going to help bring all the community’s needs under one roof”.

Moreton Bay is the third-largest council in Australia, with a population predicted to rise by 210,000, to 690,000, by 2041.
