Victorian specialist Mr Paling Fence has unveiled its franchise model, targeting builders, tradies and project managers tired of chasing payments and managing inconsistent cashflow.

Andrew Liddell founded the business in 2019 after a career as a carpenter and builder. He saw a gap in the market to provide a professional fencing service, and built up a local business using skilled fencing subcontractors.

Liddell plans to extend the business along Australia’s east coast, with an initial goal of 15 franchisees in Melbourne before heading interstate.

“We want the business to be manageable and sustainable. It’s important that everyone does well out of their territory so we don’t want to flood the market.

“We want to do it properly; we’re selling a business not a job, so it’s perfect for someone with ambition to grow their business. We’re not looking for fencers; we want someone who wants to run a business and do really well,” Liddell said.
