Plus Fitness is adding new gyms to its portfolio and reporting membership up 11 per cent as gyms reopen.
The two new 24/7 gyms are in Edmondson Park and Ambarvale New South Wales. A third outlet, the Clyde North venue will open in on 24 June, two days after the official reopening of gyms across Victoria.
Nigel Miller, Plus Fitness franchisor and co-owner with John Fuller, commented on the buoyancy of the fitness sector, despite the pandemic.
“We are seeing it bounce back stronger than ever as we work our way out of the remaining restrictions placed on us across the country,” he said.

“We have seen an overwhelming level of support from our members during this time and especially now as they return to the gym.”
Miller pointed to a rise in membership in the franchise network.
“We have also seen new member acquisition up 11 per cent on this time last year indicating the value our communities place on their health and wellbeing at this time,” he said.
The franchisors report strong pre-opening interest for the three new Plus Fitness gyms. The Ambarvale outlet signed up more than 125 members just prior to opening its doors.
John Fuller said the franchisors had used the lockdown period fruitfully.
“We have used the time we have been closed to focus on improving many things within our business, as well as ensuring we come out of the current climate stronger than ever.”
Fuller revealed there are a further 42 franchise territories sold, 18 of which have a secured property and are in various stages of fit-out.
