Gym chain Plus Fitness heads into 2025 in expansive mode, adding the UK to its global footprint.

The Plus Fitness UK agreement grants the master franchisee a 10-year term with two additional renewal options.

Franchise recruitment begins in early 2025 with the launch of the first UK site pencilled in for this year.

Harry Konstantinou, CEO of Plus Fitness’ parent company Viva Leisure, said there is significant growth opportunity in the UK. About 15 per cent of the population holds a gym membership.

“Our low-cost, high-reward franchise model will allow Plus Fitness to scale quickly and meet the growing demand for affordable fitness solutions,” he said.

The UK footprint will enable Viva to extend the rollout of its cutting-edge Hub technology and Viva Pay payment systems.

“We look forward to seeing Plus Fitness thrive in the UK and the positive impact this will have on our broader strategy,” he said.

Plus Fitness operates, or has agreements to operate, in Australia, New Zealand, the west region of India, Singapore, Philippines and the UK.

The Plus Fitness UK agreement follows swiftly on the Singapore deal signed late November 2024, which kickstarts growth across southeast Asia.
