Poolwerx has signed 7-time Olympic medalist Libby Trickett as its new brand ambassador in Australia.

Trickett kicks off her ambassadorial role alongside Olympic legend Laurie Lawrence with Learn2Swim Week, Poolwerx’ annual Australia and New Zealand-wide safety initiative which offers free swimming lessons for children under five, this year running from Friday 25 September to Sunday 3 October.

“Educating others on the importance of a healthy pool and wellbeing, as well as supporting Poolwerx initiatives such as Learn2swim Week is a fantastic partnership,” Trickett said.  “Poolwerx’ values and goals are something that really stood out and aligned with mine.”

Covid restrictions are seeing Australians spend more time and money in their own backyards than ever before and customer priorities have changed said Poolwerx CEO and founder John O’Brien.

He stressed the importance of working with a highly-respected voice who could relate to and align with these changes.

“Our brand and what we stand for – maintaining healthy pools for families and friends to create lifelong backyard memories – reflects in the decision to bring on Libby as an Ambassador, alongside our support for Laurie Lawrence and the Kids Alive do the Five initiative. Libby was an icon on the pool deck, and we’re delighted to have her on board with Poolwerx.”

The pool maintenance business has set itself up for further growth this year, looking to shape a strong management team focused on expansion.

Poolwerx appointed Garth Parker as NZ master franchisee, with a plan to grow the footprint to 40 stores in 10 years, and is on the hunt for a top franchise development executive.
