Retail Food Group Limited executive chairman Peter George will transition to the non-executive chairman’s role on the board from 1 July 2024, earlier than expected.
George took up his current position in November 2018 to oversee a turnaround in RFG’s fortunes.
When Matt Marshall was appointed CEO in July 2023, George indicated he would continue in his role for a further two years to ensure a smooth succession. Just 11 months on however, and he believes the executive management team led by Marshall is well placed to drive the business.
George said “Matt Marshall has demonstrated a capability and drive for growth and sustainable value creation for the company’s stakeholders.”
He said RFG is “in capable hands” with a strong and experienced management team, including CFO Rob Shore and Mark Connors, the director of corporate services/company secretary.
“It has always been my contemplation, shared with the board and market, to transition to a non-executive role, and now is an appropriate time to do so”, George said.
George will be entitled to payment of accrued statutory entitlements on 1 July 2024.
