Snap-on Tools aims to raise a quarter of a million dollars for breast cancer awareness this October. And the mobile retailer is already over halfway to meeting its ambitious fundraising target for the McGrath Foundation.

Professional drift racing driver and Snap-on Tools ambassador Matty Hill is backing the ‘Socket to Breast Cancer’ initiative.

“Breast cancer affects so many lives, and I’m honoured to use my platform in motorsports with Snap-on Tools to raise much-needed funds for the McGrath Foundation,” he said.

One in seven women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. This year in Australia 20,973 women and 221 men are expected to be diagnosed with the disease.

Snap-on fundraising for McGrath Foundation

A portion of the proceeds of every sale of Snap-on’s Pink Tool Set will go directly to the McGrath Foundation. The Foundation’s mission is to ensure that no-one goes through breast cancer without the care of a breast care nurse.

The initiative is part of Snap-on’s commitment to give back to the community and drive positive change through the automotive network.  It’s a cause close to the heart of both the Snap-on business and its employees.

Paul Lynch, national sales manager, Snap-on revealed his mother has been affected by breast cancer.

“This partnership is incredibly meaningful to me,” he said. “It goes beyond business and it’s about supporting families like mine who have faced the emotional and physical challenges of breast cancer.”

Lynch said he is proud that Snap-on is fundraising to enable McGrath Breast Care Nurses to reach more families. It’s a cause that hits home for many of us, and I’m grateful to be part of a company that’s committed to making a real difference.”
