Studio Pilates celebrates many milestones in its 20th birthday year

2022 is a big year for Studio Pilates International. As well as thriving through the recent challenges that beset the fitness industry as a whole, they are racking up the milestones.

Along with their 20th birthday, Studio Pilates expanded into a fifth country, opened their 70th studio and have sold 123 sites to date, with the remainder expected to open in the coming months.

“What started as a single studio in Brisbane’s Hawthorne in 2002 has turned into a global empire,” said Jade Winters, who co-founded the brand with his wife Tanya (pictured). “We’re not only attracting a loyal clientele but also a loyal franchisee network who love turning their passion for Pilates into profits.”

Franchisees keen to build their portfolio

As the popularity of Pilates continues to rise, Studio Pilates has enjoyed a 48 per cent year-on-year increase in the number of studios opened by both new and existing franchisees. They now have a presence in Australia, New Zealand, China, the US and the UK.

“The Studio Pilates goal is to change the way the world works, not only through the phenomenally popular and physio-backed approach to the popular workout, but also through the highly systemized and streamlined franchise business model that delivers incredible results for both members and franchisees,” Jade said. “This is why over 50 per cent of our current Studio Pilates franchisees own more than one studio, with many able to open their third and even fourth thanks to the fast returns on their initial investments. One example is Tammy-Jo Hunter, who opened three studios in the ACT within a period of just 12 months.”

He adds that this underscores the strength of the business and provides proof of the concept.

“Our franchisees find they’re able to consistently generate new clients through lead generation as well as retain existing clients,” he says.
