Subway Australia has been recognised as a high performing brand through the Australian Franchise Rating Scale.
It is the largest QSR franchise system in Australia to achieve this.
The independent and fact-based assessment across seven key categories delivered the sandwich chain a strong 4-star rating.
Subway was able to demonstrate an overall high level of transparency and franchise performance across all categories.
FRANdata’s Australian CEO, Darryn McAuliffe, said “This strong rating reflects not only the expected
underlying strength of a longstanding and large global franchise system, but also a fierce commitment to the
success of its franchisees.
“Subway offers a highly structured initial training program and has a suite of highly developed support programs in place to optimise the performance of their Australian franchisees.”
McAuliffe highlighted the strong impact of the food franchise’s brand refresh and renewal program.
“This is driving improved performance in what is a highly competitive market,” he said.
Subway Systems Australia country director Geoff Cockerill said the results reflected the brand’s proven
standards, that had been built over its more than 30-year history in Australia.
“FRANdata’s rating demonstrates to prospective franchisees that the Subway franchise system is a strong
investment opportunity,” Cockerill said.
Subway joins a host of high performance brands which have been rated for their transparency and franchise performance.
Among the list of stellar brands are fellow food chains Pizza Hut Australia, which was the first to be awarded a top rating in 2021, The Cheesecake Shop and Ferguson Plarre bakery chain.
