Aramex Oceania CEO, Peter Lipinski, is to exit the business at the end of September after a 13-year tenure with the logistics firm.

Lipinski has overseen the Aussie company’s rebrand from its original Fastway name to Aramex, following the latter’s global acquisition of the courier business in 2016.

He spent six years with Fastway Couriers as general manager, before taking on the COO role. A year later he was in the hot seat as CEO under the Aramex banner and a year ago Lipinski took on the Oceania role.

Lipinski has steered the company through the challenges of the pandemic and the simultaneous boom in ecommerce.

Lipinski said “After 13 fantastic years with Fastway, then Aramex, I’m looking forward to exploring new opportunities. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the dynamic freight and logistics sector and would particularly like to thank the Australian team, including the regional franchisees who contribute immensely to Aramex’s success.”

In a realignment of territories, Aramex president Andy Van Der Velde will succeed Lipinski as Regional VP Oceania and will focus solely on Aramex Australia and New Zealand.

Van Der Velde previously spent 16 years as CEO of Aramex South Africa and since 2020 has been based in Dubai, UAE.
