Anytime Fitness has raised more than $400,000 for charity through a gruelling five-day Fitphoria Expedition across Thailand.

More than 80 franchisees and their families, along with support office team members, took on the challenge to support charity partners Hands Across the Water, Bravehearts, and Running for Resilience.

Participants could cycle 500km or run 212km in the five-day event. At the same time, a dedicated project crew worked alongside communities to improve the living environment at Hands Across the Water’s Baan Tharn Namchai (BTN) home.

The expedition culminated with both groups coming together at BTN – a charity that provides vulnerable Thai children with safety, education, life essentials, and future opportunities. As part of the project work, new recreation areas were created to enhance the children’s daily lives.

Anytime Fitness Australia co-founder Richard Peil and managing director Simon Thompson were among the 39 cyclists.

Thompson said the expedition was a natural extension of the brand’s core values and representative of the network’s long-term commitment to driving global change.

“Community is the ultimate pillar of Anytime Fitness. Fitness can often be viewed as an individual pursuit, but this expedition demonstrates the massive power of our network when aligned under a shared, heart-led purpose.

“From the physical grit of our riders and runners, to the hard work of our support crew building infrastructure on the ground, to the grassroots fundraising from our clubs, we are proving that our community model can drive measurable, lasting social impact well beyond the gym,” Thompson said.
