Anytime Fitness Australia has unveiled a refreshed leadership team, promoting from within the group. The strategic appointments are designed to strengthen the gym chain’s business structure and accelerate growth.

Simon Thompson, the brand’s GM since 2022, takes on the managing director role. Thompson’s career at the gym brand’s parent company Collective Wellness includes chief operating officer for the group and regional manager North West for Anytime Fitness.

Jason Stubbings, formerly head of franchise development and compliance, is promoted to chief operating officer. The previous head of people and culture, Fiona Sarkissian, takes up the role of head of franchise performance. Anytime Fitness has begun recruiting to replace Sarkissian in the head of people and culture role.

Caitlin Bancroft, Anytime’s chief marketing officer, is promoted to group chief brand and marketing officer. This new role will expand Bancroft’s focus to share learnings across Australia and the UK.

New appointments will strengthen and grow the Anytime Fitness brand

Chief financial officer, Kevin Huang, steps up as group chief financial officer. He will have a focus on robust financial leadership and global strategic alignment.

Chris Reid continues in his role as head of business development, following a record-breaking year of franchise territory sales. Anytime Fitness more than doubled its target for appointing new franchise territories and is on track to reach its long-term goal of 800 clubs and 1 million members.

As new managing director, Thompson said “We’re not just growing in size – we’re growing in capability, impact, and ambition. This is a pivotal moment for our brand, and we’re ready for what’s next.

“Our new leadership team reflects the depth of talent we have across the business and positions us strongly for the future. Every move we make is now 100 per cent focused on strengthening and growing the Anytime Fitness brand.”

News of the revamped leadership team follows last week’s announcement the brand’s owners have acquired a majority share in Anytime Fitness UK.
