Ben & Jerry’s is waiving its initial franchise fee in Australia for a limited period in a bid to broaden its reach among would-be franchisees.
The initiative will save franchisees $35,000. Franchisees who sign up to the limited deal will invest $18,000 rather than $53,000.
The deal is available for all new franchisees who sign up before 30 September 2022.
It’s the second time the ice cream chain has reduced the cost of its investment for a limited time – in 2020 $20,000 was cut from the franchise fee.
Other franchisors keen to reach a more widespread group of prospective franchisees have taken similar steps.
In November last year Clark Rubber unveiled a special offer, $30,000 off franchise entry fees on premium mobile territories, as the iconic Aussie retailer celebrated 75 years of business.
In 2020 both Poolwerx and Physio Inq slashed franchise fees.
The Ben & Jerry’s initiative forms part of the global brand’s direct expansion plans with current emphasis on the new and limited Scoop Shop across Australia-wide. Locations include Brisbane, Adelaide, Cronulla, Coogee, Circular Quay and Canberra with a price range between $250,000 and $450,000.
Ben & Jerry’s has now been trading for more than four decades, and counts more than 570 Scoop Shops
across its global network of 38 countries.
