Melbourne’s Chadstone Shopping Centre has unveiled a new $71.3 million entertainment and dining precinct called The Social Quarter.
The new precinct – which opens this summer – spans 10,350sqm and accommodates 18 entertainment and dining concepts, a multi-deck car park and an integrated art facade.
Vicinity Centres chief development officer, Carolyn Viney, said the “first-of-its-kind” precinct has something to offer everyone at any given time of day or year combining celebration and play.
Restaurant tenants include Cinque Terre, Cityfields, White + Wong’s, Sardine Bar, Piccolina Gelateria and UA Brewing Co which will have an on-site brewery.
Entertainment venues such as Archie Brothers, Strike Bowling, Holey Moley and Hijinx Hotel will complement the existing Legoland Discovery Centre and Hoyts 13-screen cinema complex.
“Visitors can enjoy high-end restaurants with spectacular views across Melbourne to the CBD and views of the sky through the louvred glass roof made up of 468 individually glazed pieces,” said Viney.
The development boasts a 5 Star Green Star Rating and has 199KW Solar Photovoltaic (PV) to convert sunlight into electrical energy.
