Harrington Homes acts fast to sign an ACT franchisee partner

Harrington Homes had been in business for over 40 years when the family decided it was time to franchise. They opened their first franchise in South East Melbourne just a few months ago and have already signed up their second franchisee, this time in Canberra, as part of a plan to extend the brand’s footprint across Australia.

“The ACT has shown a lot of promise with a steady and growing housing market which favours the types of homes we design,” said Lachlan Harrington, the company’s Head of Franchising. “Our goal was to partner up with a franchisee who knows the area well, is focused on working closely with clients and, most importantly, aligns with our strong family-driven values. Dale Barnes is the perfect fit.”

A third generation family business

Barnes, who has worked in the ACT for over two years, liked the fact that Harrington Homes is a third generation family-owned business with specialist design experience.

“They build sustainable, affordable homes with a focus on energy efficiency and a comfortable lifestyle,” he said. “And they’re not just in it for the short term and fast profits, but to develop long term relationships.”

Barnes expects to have opened a display home and office by early 2024.

An opportunity for experienced builders

Harrington Homes has partnered with DC Strategy to drive their franchise lead generation campaign. They’re currently looking for experienced builders with a building licence to help expand the brand. Franchise investment opportunities start at $33,000 plus GST and additional working capital, and franchisees will have access to Harrington Homes’ national suppliers including Bunnings Trade, Beaumont Tiles, Haymes Paint, Knauf and Tradelink.
