The National Franchise Convention is the latest event to be shifted into next year’s calendar.
The Franchise Council of Australia made the decision to move dates for the sector’s biggest get-together because of the continuing government restrictions on gatherings and travel across Australia.
NFC is now scheduled for 4-5 April 2022 and will take place at the Melbourne Convention Exhibition Centre.
In an email to members the FCA wrote “Our NFC program in April 2022 will feature insights and inspiration from keynote speakers, plenary panels discussing vital franchising issues, and concurrent sessions providing practical information on the range of key topics which continue to challenge Australian businesses”.
The association said “We are very disappointed that we have to again move the date.”
Last year the annual conference was shelved altogether, so it will be two and a half years since the last event when it does finally take place in April 2022.
However, the FCA 2021 Excellence in Franchising Awards will go ahead as a remote event in October.
The FCA Excellence in Franchising regional winners announced in July 2021 will be finalists competing for the top slot in the national awards to be held now on the evening of the 26 October 2021 as an online event.
The awards night will reveal the country’s established and emerging Franchisors of the Year and celebrate outstanding franchise brands in categories such as marketing, international franchising, innovation and social responsibility.
- Last week Specialised Events announced it was moving its October-scheduled Brisbane show to next March and rescheduled the March Sydney Franchising & Business Opportunities Expo to May; earlier in the year it had shifted the Melbourne expo from August to late November.
