Snap Fitness Australia aims to raise $100,000 through its fundraising and mental health awareness initiative, Move Your Mood For Good, in partnership with mental health education body LIVIN.

Snap gyms will be open (where Covid restrictions allow) to the public for free for one week from 11 to 16 October, as part of Mental Health Month, and Aussies are being encouraged to register, fundraise and pledge a wellness goal.

Snap Fitness CEO Chris Caldwell said “Physical and mental wellbeing go hand in hand. Times are undoubtably tough for all of us due to the  ongoing pandemic, so now more than ever the fitness industry has an opportunity to educate people on what exercise can do to support improved mental health. This applies for all fitness levels and  capabilities, and this is what we are trying to achieve with our Move Your Mood For Good campaign.

“We understand this year fundraising may be more challenging, but we know it is still possible to raise some much-needed funds for LIVIN. In fact, if each of our members across ANZ  donated just $1 each we could raise $214,000. Being open to non-members as well as members, we’re  hoping everyone gets involved to support an important cause.”

Snap Fitness has worked with the non-profit organisation for two years.

LIVIN CEO Casey Lyons said “In what has been another tough 12 months for Australians, we are encouraging  everyone to take time for their mental health.

“Our partnership with Snap Fitness allows us to continue delivering our much-needed LIVINWell Mental Health Education and Stigma Reduction Program into schools right across the country.”

Snap Fitness is aiming to raise $100,000 across Australia and New Zealand.
