A Jump! Swim School is to open in a $3m fitness centre upgrade alongside a multi-level Genesis Health and Fitness Club, Coaching Zone and Pursuit Martial Arts centre.

Earlier this year Genesis Health and Fitness announced the acquisition of the former squash club and its upgrade investment.

When it opens on 17 October, the Lilydale outlet will be helmed by existing South Morang franchisees Sonam and Nitin Saby.

Sonam has been managing and teaching classes at the South Morang site for more than six years.

“With swimming lessons waitlists across Australia, I felt confident with the opportunity to purchase a second site, and the initial response from local parents is cementing that.”

Mark Collins, CEO of Jump! Swim School said the new location offers potential for all the brands involved.

“There are fantastic cross-promotional opportunities with this set-up,” he said.

Collins said the brand remains on track to open more than 20 new sites before June next year.

Last year Jump! Swim Group joined sibling brand BK’s Gymnastics in a smaller-scale leisure concept. Parent company Belgravia Group opened three corporate-owned sites across Victoria and Queensland.

The Belgravia group includes Genesis Health + Fitness, Coaching Zone Group Personal Training, Ninja Parc Indoor Obstacle Course and BK’s Gym and Swim. Belgravia Group as more than 100 franchise locations across the country.

The Genesis Health and Fitness business is celebrating 25 years since opening up in Victoria, back in 1997.

Earlier this year CEO Ian Jensen-Muir commented on the business’ progression over a quarter of a century.

He said “We have grown from a single club in Ringwood to an industry leader with 40 locations across Australia, and we’re still growing.”

Genesis Health and Fitness refreshed its structure in 2015, turning the gym business into a 24/7 model.
