Domino’s Pizza is launching a new e-bike, purpose built to deliver a top quality product.

The new dxb delivery bike features a built-in, fan-forced oven and a shock absorber system. A temperature-controlled pizza pod maintains the meal at 68 degrees Celsius for “optimum freshness and cheese stretch”.

Domino’s Group CEO and managing director Don Meij described the dxb as “the next exciting milestone” in the company’s delivery quest.

Meij said the addresses the critical journey from store to customer’s door.

Technology leads the way

“The focus in the food delivery industry has largely been about the technology needed to connect customers to food outlets 24/7. However, the commitment to your customers doesn’t stop the minute the meal is handed over to the delivery expert.

“Everything we do at Domino’s is designed to be delivered so our customers can enjoy the just-out-of-the-oven experience from the comfort of their home.”

The eco-friendly delivery solution marks a significant step forward in the company’s sustainability goals, said Domino’s group chief environmental, social and governance (ESG) officer Marika Stegmeijer.

The dxb will gradually roll out in select locations across Domino’s Enterprises 12 markets, with plans for wider adoption soon.
