An early morning queue of visitors waiting to attend the Sydney Franchising & Business Opportunities Expo set the pace for the two-day event, which saw a steady stream of potential franchise buyers all weekend, despite the weather.

Exhibition manager Fiona Stacey said ‘It’s been busy and there has been plenty of cultural diversity among the visitors.

“It is always good to see well-established businesses like Boost, Craveable and Retail Food Group. The feedback from exhibitors has been extremely positive, and they’ve been getting the leads.

“What’s stood out to me is the number of people who have enjoyed seeing new brands coming into the show,” she said.

Established brands and regular exhibitors such as Appliance Tagging Services, Aramex, CouriersPlease, Poolwerx, Pack & Send and Tax Assist were joined by new exhibitors included Little Boomers Basketball, Rent the Roo and Love Punch.

The women-only fitness concept Love Punch launched its franchise model at the expo. Co-founder Niki Fox told Franchise Executives “It’s been a really great expo. A great opportunity to find out what people are interested in, and meeting other brands. We’ve had some very supportive franchisors who have been very helpful in giving us some guidance, and that has been unexpected and amazing.”

The Kumon team had spoken with plenty of visitors, reporting a busy two days at the expo, while Foodco marketing manager Kristine Tan said the expo had been good for both Jamaica Blue and Muffin Break.

“It was definitely busier than last year,” Tan told Franchise Executives.

A free seminar program ran alongside the exhibition and attracted a steady crowd of engaged visitors. Participants in the two-hour Start Your Own Business workshop each morning also attended the expo.

The next Franchising & Business Opportunities Expo is in Melbourne on 17 and 18 August 2024.
