The Mortgage Choice Charity Foundation (MCCF) has raised more than $360,000 for Australian charities over FY24.

Fundraising for the MCCF national charity partner Dolly’s Dream amounted to $96,000. Dolly’s Dream is an organisation committed to changing the culture of bullying through education and direct support to young people and families.

More than $264,000 was raised for 50-plus local charities which included Big Group Hug; the Cancer Council’s Relay for Life; Giant Steps; Habitat for Humanity; LifeBlood; Starlight Children’s Foundation and St Mary’s House of Welcome.

Mortgage Choice established its foundation in 2022. MCCF is managed by a committee of franchisees and backed by REA Group.

In FY24 92 per cent of Mortgage Choice brokers opted in to contribute $5 to the foundation for each loan written.

Anthony Waldron, CEO of Mortgage Choice said, “We are so proud of the impact the Mortgage Choice Charity Foundation is having on the most vulnerable members of our communities. Our committee members have a strong desire to make a difference, bringing awareness to national and local charities, and rallying our network behind important causes.

Mortgage Choice brokers giving back to community

“Not only do most of our brokers donate $5 for every loan they write, but many of them also generously donate their time volunteering with local charities.”

Donna Campbell, MCCF committee national chairperson said, “I believe it is great for small
business owners to give back to the community. By volunteering time to help those less fortunate
you gain a new perspective and a strong sense of purpose.

“Our Victorian franchisees have been volunteering at St Mary’s House of Welcome for several years,
cooking BBQs for those in need. It’s so rewarding to hear the stories of the people who rely on St
Marys and to see our impact firsthand. These experiences remind me how lucky we are to have
food to eat and somewhere warm to sleep without struggles.”

In FY25, Mortgage Choice will continue to support Dolly’s Dream as its national charity partner and
state-based charities nominated by Mortgage Choice franchisees.
