SumoSalad launches ready-meal SumoWell line

Australian health-focused QSR franchise, SumoSalad has announced a new cross platform menu offering, launching a line of fresh, ready meals.

The introduction of the SumoWell range marks the first step in an aggressive omni-channel approach to diversifying business operations and comes just months after founder Luke Baylis resurrected the franchise from voluntary administration.

Baylis said a focus on partnerships with grocery and petrol convenience outlets would widen the brand’s distribution channels, increasing brand awareness and providing more Australians with access to healthy and convenient food options.

“With two thirds of Aussies overweight and nearly all of us wanting to eat healthier, SumoWell sees it as its mission to contribute to a ‘well-thier’ Australia,” Baylis said.

“By widening our distribution channels, we can help more of the nation gain access to quality, convenient and taste-good food without compromising on health.”

SumoSalad’s latest product innovation follows a brand refresh announced earlier this year, with Baylis revealing a number of additional strategic updates are due to be rolled out in 2019.

“The SumoWell range has been extremely well-received by consumers and retailers alike and this is just the start in an exciting new chapter for our business. As Australia’s trusted health brand, we are driven by actively listening to what our consumers want and already have big plans in place for multiple product extensions and partnerships next year,” Baylis said.

“This includes the release of our SmartPlate range – a range of perfectly portioned ready meals giving you just the right amount of smart carbs, protein and veg.“

The new SumoWell range has three options based on the franchise outlet’s traditional menu; ‘Power Proteins”, “Nourish Bowls”, and “Sides to Share”, with four flavours available for each option.
