BDC Partners has picked five amibitious franchise brands as finalists for its upcoming Emerging Giants finals pitch.

Fresh fast food chain Banana Blossom, pressure cleaning business Fresh Front, superfood brand Nautical Bowls, fitness franchise Spartans Boxing and laundromat chain Spin Zone have been chosen to present their business models to a panel of judges.

The Emerging Giants initiative, launched by BDC Partners and its Collective, aims to give a helping hand to retail or franchise businesses with between three and 25 units.

Bruce McFarlane, CEO of BDC Partners, said “We are excited by the quality of the applicants and are looking forward to seeing them pitch their businesses to the judges.

“The finalists represent four different sectors – QSR/food, fitness, home services and retail services – and demonstrated passion and commitment to start and grow their businesses to this point. Now they are keen to partner with our team of experienced retailers and franchisors.”

Each finalist will deliver a short presentation explaining why their business represents a strong investment opportunity.

Emerging Giants’ top two finalists will have the opportunity to receive an investment of up to $250,000; there will also be cash prizes on the night.

The pitchfest takes place on the evening of 13 November at Level 29, Rialto South Tower in Collins Street, Melbourne, in front of an audience – book here. While the judges are deliberating, the audience will be entertained by an emerging comedian, Daniel Connell.
