CouriersPlease CEO Mark McGinley has left his role to take up a CEO position with Freightlancer, the freight division of Freelancer, the world’s largest freelancing and crowdsourcing marketplace.
McGinley said “This is an exciting opportunity for me to work with a dynamic and vibrant company led by the inspirational MattBarrie”.
McGinley spent 18 years with CouriersPlease, and five years in the top role.
“Last mile ecommerce logistics is a tough and unforgiving industry but it is also one of the most collaborative and exciting industries to work in.
“I want to thank the entire CP team and franchisees (past and present) for all their guidance, support, hard work but most important of all, their friendship over the past 18 years,” he said.
“I am very proud of everything we achieved along the way particularly how the team stood up in the last two years in these very challenging times, resulting in recent months with CP being voted the number one courier company in Australia by CanstarBlue, an amazing result for all.”
A statement from CP described McGinley’s “tireless service” and contributions to the business as “immense”.
“Mark successfully led CP through unprecedented growth by integrating new technologies into our operations and services, and leading the massive expansion of our network, our people and our depots,” the statement reads.
CP also pointed to McGinley’s transition of the business to a Covid-safe operation and his implementation of sustainable initiatives into its operations and services.
“Thanks to Mark’s leadership and vision, CP has won six major industry awards since early 2020.”
McGinley also scooped the top ranking in the Top 30 Franchise Executives 2021 report, which showcases brilliant performance among franchise professionals in supporting franchisees.
CP is expected to announce a new CEO shortly.
