Anytime Fitness will open the doors to Australia’s first airport gym on 11 March 2026, at Sydney Airport.

The development marks a significant step for the 24/7 fitness network, taking it beyond traditional retail and residential locations.

The new two-storey, 300 sq m all-hours gym sits in the T1 International’s Arrivals area. The airport is the country’s busiest transit hub which serves more than 40 million travellers annually and 30,000 airport staff.

Simon Thompson, Anytime Fitness Australia managing director, said the opening of the Sydney Airport club brought the brand’s ‘anytime, anywhere’ promise to life.

“The launch of our club at Sydney Airport reflects our strategic commitment to delivering accessible fitness solutions wherever our members live, work and travel. As Australia’s most welcoming and inclusive fitness network, we’re proud to support travellers and airport teams with a space designed to move, recharge and prioritise wellbeing,” Thompson said.

Airport gym a milestone for Anytime Fitness

“This initiative represents a significant milestone for our brand and the broader fitness industry, setting a new benchmark for convenience-led fitness.”

Gail Taylor, Sydney Airport GM retail, believes the new facility will enhance the traveller experience and also support the airport workforce.

“The new Anytime Fitness Sydney Airport club provides travellers and airport workers with a convenient, purpose‑built space to prioritise their wellbeing,” Taylor said. “This initiative reflects our commitment to elevating the airport experience by creating a destination focused on movement, recovery and convenience.”

The club offers 24/7 access for early departures, late arrivals and shift workers. It features functional training zones, premium fitness and strength equipment, two lifting platforms and showers and amenities.

As part of the opening, Anytime Fitness has created three bespoke ‘Fit to Fly’ workouts, developed by Anytime Fitness trainers. Gym users can access the workouts on the Anytime Fitness Australia YouTube channel and at the Sydney Airport club.

The new club is the brand’s only corporate-owned gym. Existing franchisee Hayden Giddey and club manager and PT Daniel Harrison will manage the club.
