Battery World has a new GM. Johnny Kennedy brings more than 26 years of experience in the battery industry, previously managing sales teams for Lion Batteries, Federal Batteries and Century Yuasa Batteries.

He has worked across business development, sales management and marketing in both Australia and New Zealand. Most recently he developed online training platforms for the battery industry and TAFE training providers.

Kennedy takes on the role after the departure of former GM Shawn Kerr, a franchise executive who returned to the food sector as CEO of  Burger Urge.

Kennedy said his leadership of the retail and service chain see a focus on training, product knowledge and customer service.

“I look forward to ensuring Battery World continues its growth trajectory, whilst continuing to support our franchise partners with exciting business opportunities and delivering innovative portable-power solutions to our customers,” he said.

“A focus on customer service and satisfaction will be key, backed by our extensive knowledge of product and our service offering. My goal is to build on the success of the past 23 years to create a collaborative culture and a passion for everything we do.

This was made even more evident as we worked through the challenges of 2020, with our franchise partners coming forward, more than ever, to support communities with top quality Aussie-made products, local expertise and Aussie-wide warranties.,” he said.

Kennedy said he is thrilled at the opportunity to help define the brand’s direction while building on its strength.
