Choice Hotels Asia-Pac is stepping into the long-stay apartment hotel market in a collaboration with Extended Stay Australasia, co-founded by Paul Constantinou AM, founder of Quest Apartment Hotels.
The partnership will bring upper midscale chain MainStay Suites to Australia, offering long-stay, flexible accommodation across the country.
Choice Hotels Asia-Pac CEO, Trent Fraser, said “Bringing MainStay Suites to Australia strengthens our presence and supports our growth strategy and international footprint.
“We’re proud to offer tailored solutions for corporate and government travellers, as well as project-based workers, providing the ability to stay for weeks, months or longer without sacrificing comfort or convenience,” Fraser said.
MainStay Suites will expand through new builds and conversions, offering investors and developers a turnkey business opportunity, and with plans to expand into key regional hubs and transport corridors.
The newly formed Extended Stay Australasia, helmed by Constantinou and co-founder and MD Damian Gallace, owns Aligned Corporate Residences and Corporate Living Accommodation.
It will manage operations, leveraging decades of expertise in extended stay.
Constantinou, who founded Quest Apartment Hotels in 1988 and led the business for 33 years, said the new offer is about flexibility and comfort for guests.
“With our ‘Live Like Home’ experience, we’re offering long-stay travellers a convenient and comfortable alternative to traditional hotels,” he said.
All MainStay Suites properties participate in Choice Hotels’ loyalty program, Choice Privileges.
