Franchise brands are stepping up to help those impacted by the devastating floods across Australia’s east coast with Dymocks and Domino’s fundraising to help flood victims.

Dymocks and Dymocks Children’s Charities have launched a Flood Recovery Appeal to help schools that have had their libraries and classrooms damaged or destroyed replace and replenish their library collections.

Mark Newman, Dymocks managing director, said ” Dymocks Childrens Charities have moved very quickly in recognizing the potential impact on children’s education and wellbeing if they don’t have access to books once the floods subside.

“We are raising funds through our store network and our Booklover loyal customer program to support the charity in being able to supply those books.”

Dymocks Children’s Charities Evelyn Liu said “A number of local schools are completely submerged in flood water, and thousands of families have been displaced and lost everything. While the effected communities rebuild and slowly recover, our thoughts are with them and we will be there to support these schools and children by restocking their school libraries and homes.”

All funds will go to providing new books for school libraries and children impacted by the recent floods.

Today Domino’s stores across Queensland, New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory are raising funds for GIVIT’s QLD and NSW Floods Appeal to support the communities impacted by the recent severe weather events.

Domino’s is donating to  GIVIT’s QLD and NSW Floods Appeal,$1 from every large or extra large pizza sold in participating stores.

Domino’s Australia and New Zealand CEO David Burness said as clean-up efforts in Queensland and New South Wales communities began, stores were looking to help in any way they can.

“Domino’s is often the last kitchen to close during a natural disaster, supporting affected communities by donating much-needed hot meals to first responders, SES workers, volunteers and evacuees.

“Domino’s will continue to support those in need, and is proud to have donated more than 2,000 pizzas to those affected by the Queensland and New South Wales floods so far,” he said.

“But we want to do more.”
