Dymocks Tutoring managing director Mark Buckland has joined the Dymocks board as a director.

Buckland has led the tutoring business since it launched in 2018, and has been general counsel and company secretary since 2009 and a director of all subsidiary companies since 2012.

Dymocks chairman John Forsyth said “I am delighted to welcome Mark to the Dymocks board. As a manager and lawyer across all group divisions, his insight will be invaluable as we continue to grow and
develop the Dymocks Group.”

Buckland has been a significant part of the Dymocks Group for more than 10 years. He managed the
turnaround and sale of Healthy Habits; developed a new strategy and management team for
confectioner Patons; and has been the driver and CEO of the launch and start-up of Dymocks
Education.

“There are very few companies like Dymocks with such a legacy in Australia,” he said. “To have the opportunity to be part of its future is an incredible opportunity. It will be a pleasure to sit with a very experienced Board and help contribute to the next 140 years of Dymocks.”

Dymocks Tutoring has grown rapidly with online and in-hub tutoring services to New South Wales students, and in June launched the online service in Victoria.

The shift to remote learning through the pandemic has brought a huge boost to the online tutoring market, he reports, with the brand’s high quality, personalised but affordable small group class format proving popular.

Dymocks Tutoring is looking to expand to regional centres across NSW and Victoria.
