A franchise benchmarking study is underway with FRANdata, which operates The Australian Franchise Registry.

The organisation already holds more than 300 Australian disclosure documents covering about 150 brands and further information will help paint a picture of sectors and brand performance within the franchising industry.

FRANdata CEO Darryn McAuliffe said “The benchmarking information will be packaged into a confidential, customised report for each brand that will provide both aggregated information and the relative position of each participating client for that category. Individual (actual $ or %).”

The short survey that forms the basis of the report is easy to access but there will be a cost for participation.

Financial benchmarks at franchisor and franchisee level, as well as training, support and marketing costs are the focus.
