Grill’d continues to support the homeless

Home-grown burger brand Grill’d has announced they will be doubling their member meal donations through their Relish Membership during National Homelessness Week (1-7 August). In partnership with St Vincent de Paul Society, Relish members will have an opportunity to donate two meals to help those doing it tough in our cities. In the past, Grill’d the limit was one meal after eight burger purchases.

In Australia, there are around 116,000 people experiencing homelessness. Every day, hundreds approach charitable organisations for support. So far, members who have completed the ‘8 and Donate’ journey have donated 43,923 meals to Vinnies food services nationally through Relish Membership with Heart.

Closing to feed the hungry

Grill’d is also providing support by closing restaurants in five CBD locations on August 2nd to feed those experiencing homelessness. The restaurant closure initiative, launched in March, has already provided 2,488 meals across multiple states. And, last month, Grill’d also donated $75,000 across key charity partners St Vincent de Paul Society, The Salvation Army and the Australian Red Cross after taking the Local Matters fund raising program it has supported for over 10 years from local to national.

“Our Local Matters program usually supports hyper-local community groups, but a few times a year we take the program national,” said CEO Adam Stapleton. “This supports overarching causes that we, as a business, are passionate about as a way to draw attention to a bigger cause.”

To date, Grill’d has donated over $6,000,000 to community groups across Australia.
