Guzman y Gomez (GYG) has launched on Apple CarPlay, making it the first quick service restaurant brand in Australia to enable customers to select and pay for their order through their car.
Customers who update to the latest GYG app and connect their iPhone to a CarPlay-enabled vehicle can now find their nearest restaurant, tap a favourite order, and pay with their saved card before picking up their order.
Bryce Maybury, GYG’s chief technology officer, said “Our guests are loyal. They know their order, they trust the food, and they just want it fast. CarPlay means they can get their GYG fix without even picking up their phone
“We’re on a mission to reinvent fast food and change the way the masses eat, and that means making it as easy as possible to get great food, how and where you want it. That’s what we build technology for,” Maybury said.
GYG joins Domino’s Pizza USA and Dunkin’ in the fast food ordering space on CarPlay.
The Mexican-themed chain is also unveiling the Gomex Wallet pass which means customers can access their Gomex loyalty card and its data in Apple Wallet. The loyalty card is also available in other digital wallets.
Every CarPlay order earns loyalty points in the Gomex program.
