Harcourts Rata & Co in Thomastown, Victoria, has turned the fundraising heat up and the temperature down in support of The Big Freeze, a campaign to fight motor neurone disease.

The event is FightMND’s largest fundraising campaign which raises vital funds for MND research and projects supporting those living with MND.

The Harcourts team was promised the chance to ice bucket all five directors of the business if it raised $2000. A $3000 donation would include the heads of finance and admin/marketing in the ice bucket challenge.

Adam Fiteni, CEO of Harcourts Victoria, then promised to take the ice treatment if the team raised $4,000.

Fiteni said “We’re always up for a challenge, but this one’s extra special. Taking a dip into icy waters is nothing compared to the daily battles faced by those with MND. If freezing for a few minutes can help fund research and find a cure, count me in.”

Adrian Knowles, CEO of Harcourts Australia, raised the stakes, promising to fly in from the Brisbane head office to face the ice bath if the donations hit $5,000.

The ice buckets were upgraded to a dunking machine and in total the team raised $5,426.

Since its launch in 2014 FightMND has raised more than $115 million, funding critical research, supportingg those living with MND, and driving hope for a cure.
